Skystream 3.7™ was designed from the start to be easily installed on a variety of sites. Here are some basics:
Location and Tower Height
Smooth clean wind will offer you the best performance from your Skystream. Most important to your installation is to place your system on the highest hill away from trees, buildings or other objects that may create turbulence in the wind. The general rule is:
“Place your wind generator in a location that is 250'(76M) away from any surrounding object.” If this is not possible then make sure the prevailing wind direction that is “upwind” from the tower is as clear as possible.

In preparation for the necessary building permits, several documents are required:
- A detailed site plan (with all the structures around the area of the proposed installation drawn and labeled with size and height). A draftsperson can help with this.
- Electrical drawings (View sample)
- Professionally engineered (PE) drawings for the tower. If you are using the included 35' Skystream tower, you can find the PE calculations here.
